But today, I want to talk about something that often gets left out of the conversation: privilege. It’s easy to feel guilty when your life doesn’t look like a 'conscious consumer' mood board. But the truth is, choosing the eco-friendly option or shopping small is a luxury that requires two things many of us are short on: money and mental bandwidth. If you’re choosing between heating and eating, you aren't thinking about artisan, handmade clothing. If you’re working back-to-back shifts just to survive, you might not have the breathing space required to properly care for reusable period products. And if your brain is already on fire with a never-ending to-do list? Trying to have the 'correct' opinion on every single world issue is a burden you’re allowed to put down. It is okay if all you did was survive today. I’m certainly not at the level where I can afford every sustainable habit I see online, and I’ve been in the position where 'the green option' just wasn't an option. Growth is great, and trying our best is important—but your worth isn't measured by your ability to buy your way into a certain lifestyle.
