Introduction

From sunburns to feeling generally worn out, summer can present unique challenges that require special attention to self-care. Fortunately, there are a plethora of products available to help us feel and look our best during this season. In this article, I’ll be exploring some of the best summer self-care products that can help you to keep feeling your best. Whether you’re planning a beach holiday or just want to enjoy the summer sunshine in your garden, these products and ideas are sure to make your summer a more enjoyable and comfortable experience.
BeYou Tired Foot Cream
Summer is my favourite time to head out exploring. Longer days and warmer weather always puts me in the mood to head out to new places – whether it be the countryside or a new city. The natural result of this is walking several miles or generally just being on my feet for most of the day. Summer is also my busiest time for events with friends and family, usually involving shoes that aren’t the most comfortable! This is where BeYou’s Tired Foot cream comes in. This cream contains CBD which I’ve found really helpful in soothing feet after a long day. I love that I can apply this at the end of the night, just before going to sleep, and wake up with my feet feeling ready for whatever I’m planning that day.

CeraVe AM Facial Moisturising Lotion
I used to be awful for not wearing sunscreen on my face. For some reason, using sunscreen on exposed areas of my body, like my arms, was never a question to me but I always hated the feeling of it on my face. Not to mention the challenges I always had with certain products flaring up acne and other skin complaints I’ve had over the years. In recent times, I’ve thankfully begun wearing sunscreen on my face most of the time, however, it was not an easy job to find one I really liked.
This is why I wanted to include this one from CeraVe in this post as I know many others struggle to find the right sunscreen for them. This sunscreen is light but still feels hydrating. It also does not appear to irritate or break out my skin. I also love that it is SPF 50, my chosen level of protection. I normally pick mine up from Boots, you can find this product here.
Leaf Shave Razor
Hair removal is a personal choice and I totally respect that. For those who do choose to remove body hair, I wanted to recommend Leaf. It uses safety razor blades which are completely recyclable yet gives the results of a plastic cartridge razor, all without the environmental impact. While it is quite an initial investment, I personally feel I’ve saved a lot of money over time as disposable cartridges can really add up when needing to repurchase them regularly. The Leaf has been able to tackle all areas of my body without the concern of cutting myself like other, more traditional safety razors on the market. My partner has also given it a try and really loves the results for facial shaving.
If you’d like to get a Leaf razor for yourself, head to their website.
A Good Book
There’s something about summer and reading. Whether it’s jetting off somewhere hot and taking your book poolside or just sitting in your own garden on a nice day, for me, it feels like the perfect relaxing activity. If you’re looking to learn something new this summer, check out my full collection of women’s health and charting books – I’ve laid it all out in an easy-to-read article here. If fiction is more your speed, however, check out my short stories and poetry book, available on Kindle.
Complete Unity Yoga Mat
I remember watching those beautifully filmed yoga videos when I was younger – back in the days when YouTube was filled with influencers showcasing their travels to exotic lands with crystal clear, blue oceans. It really inspired me to take my yoga practice outdoors in the warmer months. I love the idea of heading to a quiet field to go through a workout flow or just meditating in the quiet for a while. If I don’t have time to travel anywhere, sometimes the stability of my patio is the perfect place to practice some balancing poses. My current favourite mat is from Complete Unity Yoga – I love how high quality it is, and the grip is unmatched by any other mat I’ve tried.
You can find more information on their mats here.
