Introduction
I think I’ve mentioned this before, but I sweat, often. Whether it be from gym sessions or stressful, hot days in the office, I’ve always struggled to find deodorants that can keep up with me. For the most part, I’ve never found an antiperspirant that truly worked so had given up the search. For the last decade or more, I’d prioritised a good deodorant that prevented odour as opposed to staying dry as I’d tried so many in the past and felt like I was just wasting money. At best, I’d still sweat exactly the same as if I wasn’t wearing an antiperspirant, just minus any smell, at worst, whatever ingredients they were made from would destroy my clothes and leave me smelling weird (like body odour mixed with chemicals) by the end of the day.
When Wild announced they’d be bringing out an antiperspirant, I was extremely sceptical due to past experiences with other brands, despite having positive experiences with Wild’s regular deodorant range. So sceptical in fact that I was genuinely trying to think of polite ways of saying it didn’t work for me, even before trying it.
Wild Deodorant Vs Wild Antiperspirant – What’s The Difference?
Historically, Wild has only ever offered deodorant. Deodorant relies on formulation to prevent odours but will not keep you dry. Antiperspirant on the other hand often looks to aluminium-based compounds to temporarily block sweat pores to allow you to remain dry.
Wild Antiperspirant Review
Wild antiperspirant comes in their roll-on formula which I already really enjoy in their regular deodorant range. I picked up the refill only as I already have a case at home. I decided to try it out for its first wear during a night out where I knew I’d potentially get sweaty from heading in and out of warm bars with lots of other people around. I was also wearing a dark coloured outfit that night.
Overall, I’m shocked to say that it actually works. I stayed dry for the entire evening with zero odour issues, even the next morning (it was late, so I didn’t wash it off before going to bed). There were also no white marks on my outfit. The following few days, I wore it while wearing some of my other worst offenders for sweating – tight synthetic tops. Once again, I had absolutely no issues – no odours, no sweat patches, nothing.

Pros of Wild Antiperspirant
- Actually works – as someone who’s never been able to get antiperspirants to work for me, I’m happy to say that Wild shocked me in the best way.
- Nice scents – I’ve reviewed a huge number of Wild’s scents in this article, and I’m pleased to say that they offer several of my favourites as an antiperspirant. I personally feel there’s something for everyone in the scents that they offer.
- No white marks – at no point have I noticed any staining on my clothes. My clothes also seem totally normal after wearing the deodorant (see above where I mentioned other brands have ruined the underarms of t shirts).
- 90% natural origin ingredients – while I’m not sure on how I feel about the aluminium in the ingredients list, I’m glad that more natural ingredients have been prioritised in this product.
- Sustainable – Wild roll-on refills are compostable which is great for reducing waste.
- Nice cases – in the same vein as above, their cases are reusable which is really good vs the amount of plastic in conventional roll-on cases. I also believe there’s something for everyone in terms of the designs available. The quality is also great – I’ve owned my case for a while now with no signs of it slowing down.
Cons of Wild Antiperspirant
- Aluminium – this is a controversial one. While I recognise that there are several articles (e.g. here and here) out there discussing the lack of evidence that aluminium in antiperspirants is linked to any potential health issues, it’s something I understand that many people aren’t able to overlook. For me personally, while I’m a big believer of looking at the science, I’ve turned down using aluminium-containing deodorants for so long that it feels somewhat foreign to me to pick them back up again. However, as with many things in my life, I’ve recognised the need for flexibility (there are some days where I just need a really reliable antiperspirant, regardless of ingredients) and I think I’ve found my answer to this now with Wild.
Conclusion
It sounds silly but I’m genuinely excited to have found an antiperspirant that actually works for me. It’s opened up new possibilities in terms of not having to worry about potential sweat patches showing in particular outfits and generally just feeling more comfortable in my own skin. In terms of my own personal standpoint on aluminium, it’s taken some getting used to to try a product like this as I acknowledge that I’d really leaned into avoiding it for so long. I also had no reason to explore it again either given the aforementioned terrible experiences with conventional supermarket brands. I don’t think I’ll use this particular formula every single day as I personally prefer the other options I have on hand (regular roll-on Wild deodorant, Wild’s stick deodorant just to name a couple of examples) due to their higher percentage of natural ingredients (95% in the roll-on, 98% in the stick vs 90% in the antiperspirant). However, I love that this is now in my arsenal for those days where I just need that bit extra protection.

I have been waiting years for a refillable antiperspirant. Deodorant just doesn’t do it for me so I’m really excited to try this. Thanks for your review, I feel more confident knowing it seems to work!
