Following my previous blog post about using Lustre Pure Light Pro to treat my acne in the past, Lustre kindly reached out to me to offer me the opportunity to test their newest device, Lustre Solo. In this post, I’m going to break down what the device is, my progress and my pros and cons.
In this post:
What is The Lustre ClearSkin Solo?
Lustre Solo is a device used to treat acne via blue light therapy. It is a safe and natural way to kill the bacteria that causes acne. In comparison to the Lustre Pure Light Pro device I used in the past, this model only has one treatment head. It is also wireless and is simply recharged via a USB C cable.
To use Solo, you add a sticky strip onto the flat part of the device, remove the backing and apply to the area you are treating. If you have sensitive skin, you can apply a thin layer of non-greasy moisturiser to the treatment area before applying the device to make removing the sticky strip more comfortable.
My Experience and Progress
Overall, I found Lustre Solo easier to use compared with the previous model because it is wireless. However, I did miss having three treatment heads to treat my face simultaneously. Lustre has since released a 3-pack of Lustre Solo devices for those who feel they need to target more than one area at a time.
At the time of writing this post (and making my video) I have used the device for 4 weeks. In comparison to the twelve-week course I did with the older model, this is a relatively short amount of time but I have still noticed positive results. I have definitely noticed fewer spots on my neck and any acne spots that do come up seem to be less inflamed and heal faster. I am definitely going to be continuing to use Solo to see if I can further improve my skin.
When doing my treatments, I alternated between the right and left sides of my face every other day for even coverage. Had I only been treating the same area each day, I definitely feel I could have achieved more dramatic results although, I’m very happy with my progress so far regardless.
Pros of Lustre Solo
- Hands-free
- Safe
- Recommended by UK skin clinics
- Requires only 20 minutes of treatment time per day
- Recharges by USB C (faster than a lot of older charging methods)
- Results can start to be seen in 2 weeks of daily treatment
Cons of Lustre Solo
- Sticky strips are an ongoing cost – definitely worth weighing up how much you currently spend on acne-specific skincare to see if this cost is affordable for you
- Sticky strips mean that this is not a zero-waste product if this is of concern to you

UPDATE: Final Results
The below before and after images are following the full 12-week course. I wanted to come back here to update just to show how happy I am with the final results. From here, I will be continuing to use my Lustre Solo to do ‘top-up’ treatments to keep spots at a minimum.

20 minutes per session for 12 weeks 🙂 lots of people see some improvement in 2 weeks though according to the manufacturer!
