I’ve often seen people online wondering which Wild Deodorant scent is the best option for them. Having collaborated with the brand for some time now, I feel that I am in a good place to comment on each of the scent options that I have tried. While this is not an exhaustive list (by the ‘all’ in the title, I mean all of the ones I have access to), I wanted to rate each option on a few main features – longevity, overarching notes (in my opinion, as a regular, non-fragrance-expert human being), effectiveness as a deodorant and my overall rating. As a quick disclaimer, all of these are my own opinions, others may feel differently to me. Some options are also limited edition so may not always be available.

Sandalwood and Patchouli

Longevity – 10/10 – I could still smell the scent right to the end of the day.

Effectiveness – 9/10 – The only time this scent failed me was on a hot summer workout day.

Fragrance Notes – Deep, seductive, spicy. Imagine walking in a woodland at dusk.

Overall Rating – 10/10 – One of my favourites.

Fresh Cotton and Sea Salt

Longevity – 7/10 – The scent faded towards the end of the day.

Effectiveness – 10/10 – Despite there being very little noticeable fragrance by the end of the day, I did not have any problems with odour.

Fragrance Notes – Fresh and crisp. Imagine if someone hung their fresh bedding out to dry in a seaside town, the cotton scent travelling on the sea breeze.

Overall Rating – 8/10 – A very nice, clean scent. Just wish it lingered slightly longer on my skin!

Coconut and Vanilla

Longevity – 10/10 –  The scent lasted extremely well. I could even still smell it on my skin after rinsing off to go into the sauna post gym session.

Effectiveness – 10/10 – Very effective, after the aforementioned sauna session, I still smelled pleasant.

Fragrance Notes – Creamy and sweet but without being sickly, feels sophisticated. Imagine walking into a high-end spa if there was a cupcake bakery in the reception area.

Overall Rating – 10/10 – I love this scent as I’m a big fan of vanilla-based fragrances in general.

Enchanted Forest

Longevity – 2/10 – Maybe it was just the one I had but the scent was very faint with only a low level of pleasant woody fragrance.

Effectiveness – 5/10 – I didn’t have any major issues with odour but as the scent was at the weaker end, I smelled just neutral by the later hours of the day.

Fragrance Notes – Woody and fresh. Think pine trees when there’s snow on the ground.

Overall Rating – 4/10 – Not my favourite but could be an excellent choice if you enjoy woody scents that don’t completely overpower you. I personally feel I might enjoy it more in their body wash range.

Mind Collaboration Range

Renew

Longevity – 10/10 – I enjoyed the scent of this right through until the end of the day.

Effectiveness – 10/10 – Zero issues with odour, even after the gym, while still experiencing the fragrance throughout my time using it.

Fragrance Notes – Fresh but not aggressively so. Reminds me of some kind of citrus sweet involving sherbet I had in childhood.

Overall Rating – 10/10 – One of my favourites!

Energise

Longevity – 10/10 – Fragrance lasted all day, even could be easily smelled through clothing.

Effectiveness – 10/10 – Worked great all day. I wore a tight-fitting top on one of the days I wore this which would usually spell trouble due to lack of breathability but I was absolutely fine and odour-free!

Fragrance Notes – Punchy and invigorating. Reminds me of the smell on your hands after handling the rind on citrus fruits.

Overall Rating – 9/10 – I’m personally not the greatest fan of grapefruit, which is a major note of this scent, but it still worked really well and I’d definitely buy it in future.

Calm

Longevity – 3/10 – Scent faded quickly and wasn’t overly strong, even after the initial application.

Effectiveness – 9/10 – While I didn’t smell bad, I also didn’t feel like the scent faded very nicely on my skin.

Fragrance Notes – This scent is labelled as being lavender and geranium, however I mainly noticed the lavender. Reminded me of a lightly scented candle – not overpowering but a nice background fragrance.

Overall Rating – 3/10 – I enjoyed the initial scent of this refill but, on my body, it faded to smelling quite waxy – similar to when a wax melt loses its scent in a warmer. I’m not sure I’d purchase this one again.

Honey and Cactus Flower

Longevity – 7/10 – The scent lasted most of the day with the honey notes being more prominent for the longest amount of time.

Effectiveness – 10/10 – No odour issues at all.

Fragrance Notes – The honey pairs well with cactus flower to create a sweet yet gentle overall fragrance. It reminds me of exotic beaches – the fresh sweetness reminding me of using sunscreen at the coast while the honey/floral notes giving that feeling of being out in nature.

Overall Rating – 10/10 – I really love this one and would definitely repurchase it.

Juicy Mango

Longevity – 5/10 – The fragrance lasted for maybe half of the day – I personally feel it is quite a light fragrance to begin with so may be a good option for those who dislike heavy scents.

Effectiveness – 7/10 – No odours but no nice smell left either by the end of the day.

Fragrance Notes – This does exactly what it says on the package – it truly smells like a fresh, juicy piece of mango. It took me right back to when I initially bought a smoothie blender and quickly became obsessed with anything with mango in the recipe.

Overall Rating – 6/10 – A lovely, natural-smelling fragrance (smells like real fruit rather than sweets or something synthetic) but just doesn’t stick around long enough for me to rate it any higher.

Alice in Wonderland Collection

Queen of Hearts’ Cherry Tarts

Longevity – 6/10 – Not overly strong but also still smelled pleasant hours later.

Effectiveness – 10/10 – No odour issues.

Fragrance Notes – The fragrance notes are advertised as cherry, berry and vanilla. Before smelling this fragrance, I assumed it would be more jammy but for me, it’s somewhere between a gummy sweet and pastry. This gives a really nice balance – not sickly but also not too fruity either.

Overall Rating – 7/10 – I’m not the biggest fan of cherry fragrances but I really appreciate how balanced this one smells.

Alice’s Secret Garden

Longevity – 8/10 – the floral notes faded after a few hours but the oud remained right to the end of the day.

Effectiveness – 10/10 – No odour issues and a nice scent left on the skin by the end of the day.

Fragrance Notes – The scent is vanilla, oud and white roses. I personally love this combination as it reads as sophisticated yet still fun with the vanilla notes. Oud is one of my favourite fragrances.

Overall Rating – 10/10 – I didn’t expect to love this one as much as I do as I normally don’t gravitate towards rose – highly recommended though!

Mad Hatter’s Tea Party

Longevity – 10/10 – This scent lasted all day and can be smelled through clothing.

Effectiveness – 10/10 – No odour issues and a lovely level of scent being released from it throughout the wear time.

Fragrance Notes – I would never have guessed that the notes for this one would be green apple and jasmine tea. To me, it reminds me of the Mind Collection: Renew scent so I had assumed it would involve citrus fruit. The scent is smooth, full-bodied and really enjoyable to wear.

Overall Rating – 10/10 – Would purchase again!

Summer Breeze

Longevity – 5/10 – This comes across as a very light scent. For me, it didn’t have much staying power throughout the day but would be ideal for someone who wants to smell fresh without overpowering.

Effectiveness – 7/10 – Given that the fragrance is so light, I did notice I just smelled like ‘me’ by the end of the day. There was no bad odour but also, not much of a fresh scent either.

Fragrance Notes – The fragrance notes for this refill are ‘Freesia, Waterlily and Deep Ocean Musk’. Imagine being outdoors on a breezy, sunny day while hanging up freshly washed laundry on the line.

Overall Rating – 6/10 – Would be a great option for those who love fresh but subtle scents. For me, I just wish it was a little stronger so I could still detect it as the day goes on.

Sunkissed

Longevity – 7/10 – The scent lasts a decent amount of time but weakens significantly towards the end of the day.

Effectiveness – 10/10 – No issues with odour and remained smelling pleasant throughout the wear time.

Fragrance Notes – The notes are coconut milk, ylang ylang and vanilla cream. I personally feel reminded of early 2000s summertime, where every product made for the season smelled like rich coconut and came with advertising featuring tropical islands and sandy beaches.

Overall Rating – 10/10 – This is up there as one of my favourites – the scent is lovely as well as personally nostalgic.

Mint and Aloe Vera

Longevity – 3/10 – this scent didn’t stick around for very long. After a few hours, it was relatively undetectable.

Effectiveness – 10/10 – despite the lack of fragrance by the end of the day, I had no issues with odour.

Fragrance Notes – This scent is fresh and clean without a chemical or toothpaste type of experience. I’d personally say it’s neutral enough for most people to enjoy.

Overall Rating – 8/10 – While I love the fragrance and effectiveness, I wish it was slightly longer lasting/stronger so I could still smell at least some of it by the end of the day.

Ocean Mist

Longevity – 9/10 – I could still smell this easily by the end of the day.

Effectiveness – 1/10 – Perhaps it’s just me but I personally found that this did not mix well at all with my own natural scent/skin oils. While I did not have any major body odour while using this, I still felt as though I smelled fairly unpleasant after several hours.

Fragrance Notes – Described as ‘an invigorating fragrance that captures the essence of an ocean breeze with fresh, salty, and floral notes’, I felt there was something not quite lining up with the scent. For me, I found it smelled a little stale but this is just my opinion and others may disagree. For context, my husband enjoyed this scent.

Overall Rating – 1/10 – Not an option I would reach for again.

Wild x Chupa Chups

Watermelon

Longevity – 10/10 – While the scent does become more floral over time, the watermelon fragrance is definitely still there by the end of the day.

Effectiveness – 10/10 – No odour issues and a nice scent.

Fragrance Notes – This refill is exactly what it says – Watermelon. It’s more on the sweeter side (naturally, Chupa Chups makes candy) but not overpowering or sickly.

Overall Rating – 9/10 – Watermelon isn’t my scent of choice but I really enjoyed this one.

Cola

Longevity – 7/10 – The level of scent definitely fades considerably over time but is still there by the end of the day.

Effectiveness – 10/10 – no odour issues.

Fragrance Notes – While the fragrance is Cola, I personally feel it smells more fruity as opposed to sweets or the drink. I really enjoy this as I was initially concerned about smelling like I’d spilled a drink down myself.

Overall Rating – 9/10 – I love the scent but I’m not sure I’m fully sold on wearing it as a deodorant. Wild also offer this as a lip balm which feels more like something I’d want to use regularly.

Strawberry & Cream

Longevity – 9/10 – Can still easily be detected by the end of the day but does lose some punch.

Effectiveness – 10/10 – no odour issues and could still smell the strawberry scent all day.

Fragrance Notes – This smells exactly like strawberry and cream sweets. For me, the balance of the creaminess and strawberry scent is ideal – any more strawberry and it could come across as too sickly while more creamy would make it similar to a lot of other scents that already exist.

Overall Rating – 10/10 – This is my favourite option of the Chupa Chups collaboration. I hope Wild bring out a permanent scent like this.

Sicilian Summer

Longevity – 5/10 – For me, this scent is fairly subtle in the first place so I noticed it fading quite quickly as the day went on.

Effectiveness – 10/10 – No odours but also little to no scent by the end of the day unfortunately.

Fragrance Notes – The scent notes are Sicilian lemon, mandarin and pistachio but for me, it’s mainly the sicilian lemons. However, the fragrance does come across on the sweeter side vs the fruit itself in my opinion.

Overall Rating – 6/10 – I wanted to love this one but I just wish it was stronger – that would be my only personal criticism.

Coconut & Almond Cream

Longevity – 9/10 – Still smells lovely right until the end of the day with only a slight loss in the almond side of the fragrance as it wears.

Effectiveness – 10/10 – No issues with odour and a nice fragrance.

Fragrance Notes – Described as ‘rich coconut, toasted almond and sweet vanilla notes’ on Wild’s Instagram page, I feel it smells like some kind of ice cream dessert you might have in an all-inclusive resort somewhere sunny. The main scent for me is the creaminess while the almond prevents it from being overly sweet.

Overall Rating – 10/10 – I really love this one and would definitely recommend it.

Pina Colada

Longevity – 5/10 – Almost no scent at around the midday mark unfortunately.

Effectiveness – 10/10 – No issues with odours, just a shame there was no scent by the end of the day.

Fragrance Notes – I think I came into this one expecting something different to what I experienced. To me, I expected to smell something similar to the drink – fruity, sweet but with an undertone of creamy coconut. However, for me, it reads more like how you’d imagine a room fragrance smells – less sweet, more well-balanced. If you told me to name it by scent alone, I’d probably tell you it was just generally tropical.

Overall Rating – 5/10 – I was left wanting more from this scent although others may disagree!

Black Cherry

Longevity – 5/10 – While some of the cherry scent stuck around all day, it just wasn’t enough to form a nice overall fragrance.

Effectiveness – 5/10 – On my skin, I didn’t personally enjoy how the scent faded. You may be different, however.

Fragrance Notes – Black cherry! Smells like a gummy sweet.

Overall Rating – 5/10 – While I enjoyed the idea of this scent, I was disappointed with the longevity of it so would give it a miss in future.

Warm Cinnamon Bun

Longevity – 8/10 – While the spiced fragrance wore off around halfway through the day, I could smell a lovely warm vanilla right until I showered in the evening.

Effectiveness – 10/10 – No odour issues to report.

Fragrance Notes – Cinnamon, vanilla and maple sugar. Personally, I found I could smell more of a generic warm spiced scent rather than specifically cinnamon but I did really enjoy the sweet vanilla fragrance – this was more of an undertone that could be more easily detected after the initial spice wore off.

Overall Rating – 7/10 – A lovely winter scent, would use it again but would love a more vanilla-leaning version rather than spice being the top note.

Winter Breeze

Longevity – 10/10 – A scent that lasted all day long.

Effectiveness – 10/10 – No problematic odours and a lovely clean fragrance.

Fragrance Notes – Sea salt and forest air. For me, it smells very similar to Summer Breeze but somehow cooler – odd because they’re definitely not the same scent notes! Imagine walking around on fresh snow while wearing freshly washed cotton clothes.

Overall Rating – 7/10 – A nice clean scent – I personally prefer Fresh Cotton and Sea Salt for the same scent profile however, as I find it a little more subtle in a good way.

Peachy Kisses

Longevity – 8/10 – The scent definitely fades to be just a pleasantly sweet fragrance after a few hours.

Effectiveness – 10/10 – No odours by the end of the day.

Fragrance Notes – “Juicy peach, sweet nectarine, & apricot”. To me, it leans more towards peach sweets but not in an overly fake way which I find enjoyable.

Overall Rating – 8/10 – A really nice scent, great for those who like things reminiscent of sweets but without an overly synthetic smell. Just wish the peach scent lasted a little longer!

Morning Meadow

Longevity – 8/10 – The scent is strong at first but fades down to a nice jasmine scent as time goes on.

Effectiveness – 10/10 – No odours by the end of the day – just a nice floral scent remaining.

Fragrance Notes – Wild describe the scent as “pear, jasmine, tuberose” but I purposely chose not to read what it was before trying it. For me, it has the freshness of cut grass but mixed with rich floral notes. Overall, it feels really sophisticated of a scent and reminds me of some perfumes I’ve tried in the past.

Overall Rating – 9/10 – Really enjoyed this one – I wish the strength of fragrance would last longer throughout the day but I’m happy that it fades so nicely, still leaving you with a pleasant floral scent.

Other (Non-Deodorant) Scents to Note

While this post was initially supposed to be predominantly about deodorant scents, I really wanted to devote some time to some of the other scents I’ve experienced in other products from Wild.

Hawaiian Ocean Body Wash

This is one of my favourite scents I’ve ever used as a body wash – it’s sweet, floral and reminds me of exotic beaches but without the typical sunscreen style fragrance you often see in this genre. Unfortunately, it appeared to be limited edition so I’m absolutely gutted to no longer be able to purchase it.

Jasmin and Mandarin Blossom Shampoo Bar

This scent is both soothing and refreshing. It doesn’t leave an excessive amount of fragrance in the hair so it may be a good choice for those who prefer a more muted amount of scent.

Spa Daydreams and Citrus Burst Hand Wash

I honestly feel like these are both really great choices in terms of hand wash scents. For those who love a clean freshness, Citrus Burst provides that while Spa Daydreams has a relaxing, herbal type fragrance that definitely reminds me of walking into the spa area of a nice hotel.
