Introduction – Fussy Deodorant Scents Review

I’ve tried several of Fussy’s deodorant scent options. Previously, I wrote a similar post for another brand and, following the popularity of that, I was eager to begin rating fragrance options from Fussy. For me, it’s a fun little way of being able to recommend my personal favourites to anyone reading.

If you’d like to check out my full review of Fussy deodorant, head here. Also, it’s worth noting that I’ll be updating this post with new fragrances as and when I have the opportunity to try them.

Tropic Tonic

fussy tropic tonic review

Longevity – 8/10 – This fragrance lasts most of the day, fading to a neutral nothingness by the end of the day.

Effectiveness – 10/10 – No odour to report.

Fragrance Notes – “Lime + Basil + Mandarin” according to the website. To me, it smells like a tropical juice drink with a nice balance of sweet and freshness.

Overall Rating – 10/10 – One of my favourites.

Night Tales

fussy night tales review

Longevity – 10/10 – This fragrance lasts all day. It even lingers on clothing after undressing.

Effectiveness – 7/10 – For some reason, I tend to be able to smell something with this fragrance after a particularly hot day or days where I’m working out. Personally, I believe it’s how it interacts with my own personal scent as opposed to a failure of the formula.

Fragrance Notes – Deep, warm and woody. Reminds me of being inside a cozy log cabin during winter.

Overall Rating – 8/10 – A lovely smell but I need to be in the right mood for it. Suits my husband, Mike, very well as I love this style of scent on him.

Lavender Fields

fussy lavender fields review

Longevity – 8/10 – Lasts for most of the day but does fade to being primarily just the vetiver by the evening.

Effectiveness – 10/10 – Works great for me, even on hot days.

Fragrance Notes – “Lavender + Geranium + Vetiver” on the website. The vetiver with the lavender and geranium definitely helps this fragrance to feel more sophisticated (sometimes, lavender-based options can smell sickly sweet to me). It reminds me of some of the massage oil products you might experience at a spa.

Overall Rating – 10/10 – I love this scent and feel it goes well with many of my other fragrances I use throughout the day (e.g. perfumes and body sprays).

Coconut Milk

fussy coconut milk review

Longevity – 5/10 – A subtle fragrance that didn’t have a huge amount of staying power for me.

Effectiveness – 10/10 – No odour problems, despite the initial scent wearing off by the middle of the day.

Fragrance Notes – “Coconut + Almond + Vanilla” is mentioned on the product page. Creamy and sweet but not distractingly so. This combination of coconut, vanilla and almond is reminiscent of a rich body cream I used to use throughout my teenage years – a warming scent that brings back positive memories.

Overall Rating – 9/10 – High up on my list but I wish I could still smell the scent right until the end of the day.

Wide Eyed

fussy wide eyed review

Longevity – 10/10 – This scent lasts all day for me.

Effectiveness – 10/10 – No odour issues and smells good against my own natural scent.

Fragrance Notes – This fragrance is fresh but also has an earthiness from the black pepper. I really enjoy it as it feels more complex than a simple citrus fruit scent.

Overall Rating – 10/10 – A firm favourite and one I love to go back to in between trying other products.

Sugar Crush

fussy sugar crush review

Longevity – 5/10 – Lasts for around half of the day in terms of fragrance but also fades nicely rather than smelling weird.

Effectiveness – 10/10 – No issues with odour.

Fragrance NotesAKA ‘Snow Angel’, this scent smells extremely similar to the Snow Fairy scent made by Lush.

Overall Rating – 6/10 – Not my personal favourite as I tend to shy away from overly sweet fragrances (except vanilla) but I enjoy that I got to try it as, to me, it’s a fun little scent. Unfortunately, this was limited edition but I’m hopeful to be able to get it one day in the future if it returns.

Sun Drunk

Eco-friendly deodorant showcased among vibrant yellow and white flowers, highlighting its natural ingredients.

Longevity – 8/10 – The scent lasts well over the course of the day, fading to more of a creamier smell with a slight spice on my skin.

Effectiveness – 10/10 – No problems with odour.

Fragrance Notes – “Vanilla + Ylang Ylang + Star Anise”. To me, it reminds me of walking around on holidays, just as the sun is setting. The high humidity causing floral scents to spread from nearby shrubs and bushes, mingling with the subtle scent of sunscreen as fellow travellers wander by.

Overall Rating – 9/10 – A really enjoyable scent – only lost a point as ylang ylang wouldn’t ordinarily be a first pick for me but this very much works!

Cloud Nine

Eco-friendly Fussy deodorant in a minimalist white container, surrounded by soft cotton bolls on a grey background.

Longevity – 8/10 – Lasted most of the day, fading to mainly the earthiness of the vetiver by later into the afternoon.

Effectiveness – 10/10 – No issues to report.

Fragrance Notes – “Cotton + Sandalwood + Vetiver”. This fragrance, to me, is the definition of the ‘clean laundry’ smell but with the added dimension of the sandalwood and vetiver. While using it, I feel like one of those people who has mastered the art of scent layering (I definitely haven’t in real life!), giving that subtle mystery of “she smells clean, but what else is she wearing?”.

Overall Rating – 10/10 – A good daily staple choice – would suit all genders and is generally really pleasant.

Wavy Days

Eco-friendly deodorant with blue casing, surrounded by fresh eucalyptus, on a minimalist background.

Longevity – 2/10 – In the container, this scent seems like it would last all day but unfortunately, I was only able to detect it for a few hours.

Effectiveness – 8/10 – The scent faded a bit odd for me. While I couldn’t smell sweat, even after a heavy gym session, I wasn’t sure I enjoyed how I smelled by the end of the day.

Fragrance Notes – “eucalyptus, sage and mint”. This scent is very herbal – something like walking into a natural ingredient-focused soap shop but very subtle in comparison.

Overall Rating – 3/10 – I really like the idea of the scent in the container but on my body, it just wasn’t my favourite. I’d also love if it were stronger in fragrance.

Forest Haze

Longevity – 5/10 – While the initial scent is very strong, it faded down to near nothing by the end of the day for me.

Effectiveness – 10/10 – no odour issues or odd smells despite the lack of noticeable fragrance.

Fragrance Notes – “Scotch Pine + Silver Fir + Juniper Wood”. For me, this scent smells exactly like pine car air fresheners and, despite it being a well-balanced scent, it isn’t one I can get behind as I simply don’t enjoy this style usually. I’d recommend it to someone who wants a punchy, woodsy scent though.

Overall Rating – 2/10 – Really not my style but might be perfect for someone who is into this scent profile.

Parma Violets

Longevity – 7/10 – This scent smells exactly like the sweets when first applied then fades down to being a pleasant floral fragrance by the end of the wear time.

Effectiveness – 10/10 – No issues with odour.

Fragrance Notes – “Violet + Rose + Iris” – Fussy weren’t lying when they called this scent Parma Violets – it’s exactly that. Nothing more to say!

Overall Rating – 9/10 – While I wouldn’t ordinarily gravitate towards this type of scent, I’m really impressed by how similar it smells to the sweets. For that, it gets a high rating from me.

Jasmine Bloom

Longevity – 7/10 – By the end of the day, only a very light floral scent remained – still very nice though!

Effectiveness – 10/10 – No odour issues.

Fragrance Notes – “Jasmine + Green Tea” – I was initially a little worried that this scent would be incredibly pungent like many other jasmine fragrances I’ve tried over the years, however, I was gladly proven wrong. The scent is fresh yet exotically floral. It also isn’t too overpowering and is well-balanced between the two fragrance notes.

Overall Rating – 10/10 – A new favourite, would definitely repurchase and recommend to friends.
