Introduction – Lustre GoGlow Review

Innovative case with magnetic connectors and sleek design on light background.

I have a long relationship with Lustre Clear Skin as a brand. I first found them when I was in university and still struggling with acne despite years of treatment from the doctor that had had minimal results. My beloved ‘face lights’ took me from feeling like people would only ever see me for my skin to someone who felt like I had a chance at feeling beautiful and for that, I’ll be forever grateful.

A few years later, when starting out with this site, Lustre approached me to talk about their Solo device – essentially a wireless, far more user-friendly version of the product I’d previously used. A couple of years after that, I decided to purchase their Renew Pro mask as I wanted to take advantage of the red light technology for antiaging (I’m 10 years older than I was when I first used a Lustre product!) and once again, had incredible results. All of my reviews and results can be found here.

Recently, I was excited to see another message from Lustre drop into my inbox asking if I’d like to try another product from them to see what I thought – no pressure to say anything in particular, just honest thoughts. I chose the GoGlow undereye patches as I’ve been curious about these for a while – could they provide similar results as the mask to the undereye area?

What are the Lustre GoGlow Patches?

The LUSTRE GoGlow Advanced LED Patches are wireless, medical-grade silicone patches designed for targeted, hands-free skincare. The bean-shaped variety is specifically engineered to contour to areas like the under-eyes, jawline, and forehead, delivering a dual-action blend of red (630nm) and blue (415nm) light therapy.

Operating on a quick 3-minute treatment cycle, these patches aim to reduce inflammation, tackle breakouts, and brighten the complexion. They come with a portable USB-C charging case, making them a practical option for maintaining a professional-level LED routine while travelling or multitasking at home.

Unboxing And First Impressions

On receiving the product, I was once again met with the premium-feeling packaging I’ve experienced before from the brand. The outer packaging held two boxes – one for the bean-shaped treatment patches and one for the charging casing and batteries. The pack also contained 56 sticky dots for applying the patches, a user manual and a USB C charging cable.

Overall, everything feels really high quality and sturdy enough to stand up to regular use. My husband also agreed with me in that the charging casing reminds us both of a massive earphone case which we found quite funny.

My Results with the Lustre GoGlow LED Patches

Between the two photos, I feel my under eyes look fresher and more awake. It isn’t an intense result but it’s important to keep in mind that this is only after 14 days of use. If continued for a longer period of time, I believe there would be more of a difference again as, from experience of using Lustre products in the past, they need to be used daily over a several week period to reach a more complete result.

Pros

  • Fresher looking under eyes – while it isn’t a showstopping result, I can still see a difference between my before and after photos. I feel I look fresher and more smoothed in the undereye area, despite not changing anything else within my skincare routine.
  • Fast and convenient – it only takes 3 minutes to do this treatment. This is incredibly fast vs the 10 minutes for the Renew Pro mask or even longer for older devices. The sticky dots also hold in place well so you can move around while doing your session.
  • Portable – the solid outer casing of the charging case allows the patches to be really portable. The whole thing isn’t overly heavy either – I’d rather transport these inside their case than worry about crushing my mask!
  • Affordability – when compared with other options out there, it’s a little more affordable to only purchase the bean-shaped patches vs a whole face mask from Lustre. If you only have one area of concern, this might be more cost effective.

Cons

  • Sticky dots – While the sticky dots are really good at holding the patches onto the under eye area, the adhesive is very strong. I found myself needing to apply a thin layer of light moisturiser before putting on the patches to prevent too much pulling on removal. There is also the added factor of cost and sustainability – the single-use sticky dots would need to be repurchased regularly to continue to use the device.

Final Verdict: Is Lustre GoGlow worth it?

Overall, I enjoyed using the Lustre GoGlow patches and would recommend them to anyone wanting to try light therapy for the under-eye area. However, I think for me, I prefer treating my whole face at once so generally, I prefer my Renew Pro mask. I do understand that the mask is a higher initial investment than these patches though so I can understand why some would prefer to target just the one area rather than spending the extra money.
